The Trump administration has tracked down more than 13,000 foreign minors who disappeared in the U.S. during the Biden era, and finding hundreds of thousands more is a top priority, Tom Homan told Border Hawk at the White House.
“President Trump has three priorities: secure the border and we have the most secure border in the history of this nation; number two, remove public safety threats and national security threats that are here illegally; and three, find the children,” the border czar stated.
“We’ve put a lot of assets into that. Homeland Security Investigations are all over it. We’ve had numerous prosecutions of sponsors who were involved with trafficking. We take it very seriously.”
Homan explained that approximately 70% of illegals arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement have criminal histories, while the other 30% is comprised primarily of gang members, threats to public safety and national security, and aliens with final orders of removal who have already enjoyed taxpayer-funded due process.
“If we don’t remove them, we send a message to the whole world: ‘Enter this country illegally, but don’t worry. Have a federal judge order you removed, but no one’s ever going to remove you.’ Do you think we’re ever going to fix the problem doing that? No,” Homan said.
“The reason we have the most secure border in this nation’s history is not only because of the great work of the men and women of Border Patrol, but because we are showing the world there are consequences.”
“They see us out there every day doing these operations. They know there is no safe harbor in this country for illegal alien public safety threats or national security threats, and we are proving that every day,” he concluded.
