Fishburne’s “Matrix” character “Morpheus” represents John The Baptist, who knew Jesus was coming, the actor explained.
Popular 𝕏 host Dom Lucre listed the film’s characters alongside their biblical inspirations:
- Neo = The One – A savior who awakens to his true identity and sacrifices himself to free humanity.
- Morpheus = The Believer – Much like John the Baptist, he prepares the way, full of unwavering faith.
- Trinity = The Faithful – Her devotion mirrors Mary Magdalene, loyal and present through every trial.
- Cypher = The Betrayer – Like Judas, he trades truth for comfort and chooses the illusion over freedom.
