Parnell broke the news to journalist Breanna Morello after being asked about the leaked findings from the upcoming Inspector General’s report on the investigation into Hegseth’s use of the encrypted messaging app, Signal.
“What The IG report shows now is that the Secretary did not share classified information and did not break the law,” said Parnell Wednesday. “The Secretary has been totally exonerated.”
Parnell also called out the mainstream media’s heavily biased coverage of the incident to make it seem like Hegseth committed a crime.
“You’ll see out there a bunch of headlines where mainstream media outlets are using the word ’sensitive,’” said Parnell. “That is not a classification term. They are using that term to make it seem like [Hegseth] shared classified information.”
“But the fact is [Hegseth] did not and he did not put U.S. troops at risk … We’re glad that the IG report is out, we’re glad that we can put this entire fake news narrative to bed. He’s completely cleared.”
Not long after the interview, Parnell took to X to call out multiple outlets misrepresenting the IG report.
The timing of this dredged up faux-controversy is significant, because it comes amid explosive reports of the Deep State’s current efforts to remove Hegseth from office.
