Congress Hosts UFO/UAP Hearing

"For too long, the issue of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena – commonly known as UAPs – has been shrouded in secrecy, stigma, and in some cases outright dismissal," Rep. Luna said. "Today, I want to state clearly: this is not science fiction or creating speculation. This is about national security, government accountability, and the American people’s right to the truth."

A House task force headed up by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna hosted the “Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection” hearing on Tuesday. The event featured four witnesses who offered testimony under oath about their experiences with UFOs (also called UAPs or ‘unidentified anomalous phenomena’ – unexplainable sights in the sky, not just unidentified flying objects). This is the third hearing on the topic since 2023.

“The American people are not fragile. They do not need to be shielded like children from reality. What they cannot tolerate and what they will not forgive is a government that withholds the truth and punishes those who speak up,” Luna said in her opening remarks.

The full hearing can be viewed here or here.

“For too long, the issue of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena – commonly known as UAPs – has been shrouded in secrecy, stigma, and in some cases outright dismissal,” Luna continued. “Today, I want to state clearly: this is not science fiction or creating speculation. This is about national security, government accountability, and the American people’s right to the truth.”

Footage depicting the phenomenon was played during the hearing by Rep. Eric Burlison.

A number of UFO analysis gave their takes on the footage.

Notably, Luna’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets was established in February 2025. It is a separate House Oversight subcommittee from the one that held a hearing on UFOs in November.

The hearing featured journalist George Knapp, U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Alexandro Wiggins, U.S. Air Force veteran Dylan Borland, former military police officer Jeffrey Nuccetelli and policy counsel for the Project on Government Oversight Joe Spielberger.

During the hearing Nuccetelli detailed five alleged UAP incidents at Vandenberg Air Force Base, which hosts the National Missile Defense Project.

Nuccetelli said the incidents began on Oct. 14, 2003, when a red square hovered over two missile defense sites. Another incident occurred just a week later, when patrol noted a strange light over the ocean, and again in 2005. He also described a personal encounter in his backyard.

He called on Congress to fund independent research into UAPs, end “overclassification” of witness accounts and protect whistleblowers, who he said stay silent out of fear.

Wiggins testified in his personal capacity about UAPs he witnessed during an incident on February 15, 2023. He spotted a “self-luminous tic-tac shaped object” while aboard the USS Jackson. He said the object emerged from the ocean, linked with three similar objects, then left.

Knapp discussed his decades of reporting on the UFO phenomenon. He said that the UFO crash retrieval programs and reverse engineering programs are real, specifically pointing to events in Russia in the 1990s.

“Belief has nothing to do with it. To me, it is and always has been a news story, and an important one, likely the biggest story I will ever cover,” Knapp said.

Borland spoke about sustaining damage to his career after he revealed “experience with craft and technologies” that don’t belong to the U.S., such as a 100-foot triangle flying near a military base.

“This craft interfered with my telephone, did not have any sound, and the material it was made of appeared fluid or dynamic,” he said.

Borland described seeing what he thought was a weather balloon while on a cigarette break one night. While taking a walk toward the unidentified light, Borland said he saw the light fly across the base and a triangle “manifest around the light.”

He said his phone overheated and died as he took in the strange phenomenon.

“It was between one to two stories thick … I could never see the top of it,” he added.

Spielberger said that past presidents have been adverse toward whistleblowers.

“It is understandable that past presidents of both parties have often taken a hostile approach toward whistleblowers: Their disclosures can embarrass the president and their political party, or even lead to a national scandal,” Spielberger said.

Interestingly, Knapp said the phenomenon may be a sophisticated psychological operation.

“Do you think any of this is a psyop by the U.S. government?” Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., asked journalist George Knapp.

Psychological operations are a military tactic used to influence others to achieve national goals.

“Entirely possible,” Knapp answered. “Our government and other governments have admitted that they’ve tried to use UFOs to cover secret projects.” He added that they tend to do some “reverse engineering” when it comes to news coverage.

For decades Alex Jones has discussed how UFOs could be used as a psyop on the public by the globalists.
