Democrat Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker shrugged off the high crime rates in cities such as Chicago this week, claiming, “Big cities have crime,” and attacking President Trump for allegedly ignoring crime in red states.
Taking a stroll with a journalist, Pritzker was asked about the 54 citizens shot and seven killed in Chicago over the past weekend, and if he’d recommend his friends ride the L train at night.

REPORTER: You're hearing people say 54 SH0T, 7 dead, they're gonna say, Chicago's not safe.
PRITZKER: Look, big cities have crime…Let's…
“Look, big cities have crime. There’s no doubt about that. But, let’s just pay attention to what President Trump is doing targeting Chicago. He’s overlooking red states that have much higher crime rates,” the governor answered.
The comment comes in response to President Trump recently calling out the insane amount of violent crime in Chicago, writing on Truth Social Tuesday, “CHICAGO IS THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!”
He also posted, “At least 54 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend, 8 people were killed. The last two weekends were similar. Chicago is the worst and most dangerous city in the World, by far. Pritzker needs help badly, he just doesn’t know it yet. I will solve the crime problem fast, just like I did in DC. Chicago will be safe again, and soon. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
While Pritzker accused Trump of ignoring red state crime, which is a popular Democrat talking point, the Biden administration and blue cities intentionally changed the way they report crime to the FBI in order to conceal the truth about violent crimes in leftist-run areas.
