Image Credit: WCJB A Florida woman and her adopted children were killed this week in crash caused by a previously-deported illegal alien who was “likely drunk” and possibly high on cocaine, authorities say.
The horrifying tragedy unfolded at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday in Suwannee County.
Lake City resident Carolyn Raper, 76, was driving on U.S. Highway 90 with her two daughters when a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction collided with their vehicle.
The driver of a third vehicle was unable to stop in time and crashed into the pickup truck, WCJB reports.
Raper and her daughters, identified as Sophia, 7, and Faithann, 5, all succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the pickup, identified as 33-year-old Martin Lagunas Ramirez, also died.
“Ramirez had cocaine on him and was likely drunk while driving in the wrong lane. Ramirez was killed when a third vehicle struck his. Luckily, the driver of the third vehicle survived,” AG Uthmeier stated.
“We pray for the families of the innocent lives taken at the hands of those who should’ve never been in our country in the first place and for the FHP Troopers who respond to these horrific and tragic incidents.”
The driver of the third vehicle was identified as a 44-year-old male who was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in serious condition.
Lagunas Ramirez’s country of origin has not been made public.
Illegal alien drivers continue to destroy American lives on a near-daily basis.
