Former Pakistani Official Warns Iran War Could Become WW3, MidEast Leaders Will Meet To Discuss Conflict

Officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan will meet on Sunday and Monday to discuss ways to bring the Iran war to an end.

Turkey's inclusion in the meeting is notable as it is a NATO member. Saudi Arabia is a close U.S. ally that just struck a defense deal with Ukraine. Egypt shares a border with Israel (the driving force in the Iran war). Pakistan is an intermediary for U.S. communication with Iran since the onset of the conflict.

Ahead of Middle Eastern officials meeting Sunday and Monday to discuss the Iran war, the former Pakistan national security adviser Moeed Yusuf warned that if the conflict is not ended soon, it can spiral into what historians will refer to as World War Three.

I don’t use social media to pontificate but this needs to be said.

If no off-ramp is found within the next week, history will write of this Middle East conflict as WWIII. Very soon, it will resemble a global conflict in terms of the number of countries involved, the intensity of violence, and the spread of its absolutely catastrophic consequences. Those who can must prevent this from happening.

Indeed, some world leaders are attempting to expand the regional conflict into a global one.

On Friday Ukraine’s Dictator Vladimir Zelensky announced that his government struck a defense deal with U.S. ally Saudi Arabia to bolster the fight against Iran. Importantly, Kiev is fighting Moscow which also aids Tehran which is fighting Washington which aids Kiev.

On March 22 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to reporters in Israel at the site of an Iranian strike. He chronicled Tehran’s recent military operations including their ability to reach Europe with ballistic missies. He then appealed to the global community, requesting they get involved in the war that he and Trump initiated.

“I ask the leaders of the world, the leaders of the free world, the leaders of the moderate states, what more are you waiting for?” Netanyahu said after chronicling Tehran’s military operations. “President Trump has correctly said that Israel, the United States and Israel in this great partnership we’re fighting the battle, not only for ourselves, but for all of you. And he asked a simple question, where are you? And it’s time to heed President Trump’s call, his leadership and his vision. Not merely for our sake, but for your sake.”

Russia is supplying Iran with weaponry to fight the U.S. and Israel, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. Infowars previously reported on how Moscow shares targeting intelligence with Tehran, but the relationship appears to go far beyond information sharing. A supply line in the Caspian Sea moves ammunition, drones and other weaponry between the two nations.

The Star reported Saturday that a number of Middle Eastern leaders are set to meet to try and find a diplomatic solution to the military conflict:

In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Egypt’s Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Arabia’s Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, Turkiye’s Hakan Fidan will join Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Sunday (March 29) and Monday (March 30) for “in-depth discussions on a range of issues, including efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region”.

The visiting ministers will also call on Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who held an hour-long telephone conversation with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday (March 28).

Shehbaz during the call apprised the Iranian leader of “Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach – engaging the United States and brotherly Gulf and Islamic countries – to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation.”

Turkey’s inclusion in the meeting is notable as the nation is a NATO member. Saudi Arabia is a close U.S. ally that just struck a defense deal with Ukraine. Egypt shares a border with Israel (the driving force in the Iran war). Pakistan is an intermediary for U.S. communication with Iran since the onset of the conflict.
