Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chair of the House Oversight Committee, told reporters on Thursday that it’s “very possible” the committee could subpoena U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to testify about his ties to globalist sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaking to the press ahead of the committee’s deposition with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Comer said Lutnick may soon be subpoenaed in the spirit of bipartisanship.
“I think it’s a good possibility that his name will arise in some questioning today,” the congressman said, with Rep. Nancy Mace (R- S.C.) chiming in, “It will be on my list, and I have an email I printed off for Hillary to ask about Howard Lutnick today.”
Comer went on to point out that the Oversight Committee has already brought in former Attorney General Bill Barr and former United States Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta for questioning, noting, “This isn’t just about Democrats. This is about anyone that has any knowledge of Epstein.”
Also on Thursday, images of Lutnick hanging out with Epstein on Little Saint James Island were widely spread online.
Earlier this month Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) told CNN that Lutnick reportedly shared his personal phone number with Jeffrey Epstein and kept in contact with him through his secretary.
Rep. Massie’s remarks came as Lutnick recently explained to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that he communicated with Epstein long after he claimed to have severed ties and had sailed to his island by boat with his family to have lunch – years after he was convicted for child sex trafficking.
