On Wednesday talkshow host Tucker Carlson covered the holy war aspect of the Israeli/U.S. war on Iran. During the show, Carlson reported that Israeli IDF soldiers, a Jewish organization and Christian Zionists seek to build the Third Temple in Jerusalem – a structure whose existence, they believe, will help trigger end times prophecy.
Perhaps most importantly, the site of the former Second Temple is now occupied by one of the holiest sites in Islam – the Al Aqsa Mosque. Destroying it to build a Third Temple will undoubtedly trigger the world’s Muslims into extreme, radical and violent acts.
Around 22:00 into the show Carlson reported (with photographs and videos) that IDF soldiers are wearing patches “suggesting the point of this war was the destruction of one of the holiest places in Islam and the rebuilding of a temple that is totally anathema to Christianity.”
Carlson said that the Jewish group Chabad is one of the central organizations “pushing…for the reconstruction of the Third Temple.”
He also discussed how American Evangelical Christian Zionists are also seeking the constriction of the Third Temple. This is noteworthy as it comes at the same time as Christian Zionist U.S. military commanders are telling U.S. troops that they’re going to war with Iran to trigger the Biblical end times prophecy.
“How could an American Christian or any Christian call for the building of a temple whose presence, whose inherent presence denies Christ,” Carlsons said, going on to explain that Jesus Christ is the Third Temple.

Carlson then played a clip of Christian Zionist leader Greg Locke calling for genocide of all of Gaza and a missile attack on the Al Aqsa Mosque “so we can get that Third Temple rebuilt and usher in the coming of Jesus!”
Importantly, the Great Tribulation and the Beast System described in the Book of Revelation precedes the second coming of Jesus Christ, so an effort to bring about the Messiah’s return is also an effort to bring about the Beast System – as the Antichrist will precede Christ.
The reason Christian Zionists are comfortable with bringing on the end times is that they also believe in the Rapture theory – which claims they will depart earth prior to the Great Tribulation and not be subjected to the Antichrist.
Note that the Rapture theory is not Biblical and was invented in the 19th century along with Christian Dispensationalism – the theology which Christian Zionism is deeply associated with. Orthodox talkshow host Jay Dyer recently did a series of shows where he pointed out the errors of Dispensationalism and Zionism.
The notion that the Third Temple will herald the Jewish Messiah is rooted in post-Christian Judaism.
“According to Jewish tradition, the construction of the Third Temple is often associated with the arrival of the Messiah and the complete restoration of Israel. In some Christian eschatological views, particularly in dispensationalist theology, the reconstruction of the Temple is linked to the fulfillment of end time prophecy. These interpretations are not universally accepted and remain a topic of theological debate and speculation,” Bible Study Tools said.
It is not known if the Jewish Messiah is the Christian Antichrist, but Christians believe the Old Testament’s prophecy of a Messiah was fulfilled about 2026 years ago with Jesus Christ (the Christian Messiah).

The Catholic Church perspective on the urge to build the Third Temple is that it is based on errored theology, as the Third Temple is already built – it’s Christianity itself:
The Catechism explains simply that there will be a “supreme religious deception” before the second coming of Christ and that the supreme form of this deception is that of the Antichrist, who will bring “a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh”. No mention of the literal temple.
For Catholics, the Third Temple is already built – it’s the Catholic Church of the Apostles, Christ’s body. Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Some Catholics are indifferent, others would see the support of another temple as an act of heresy and blasphemy. To re-create a Jewish Temple with the sacrificial system again would signal that you don’t believe the Church is the Temple which offers the pure sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist.
All Christians believe the perfect sacrifice of Christ fulfilled the temple animal sacrificial system 2000 years ago rendering it obsolete. The bible Christians are not interested in re-establishing ancient Jewish rituals. They just want the temple so that the antichrist can defile it and set the stage for the Second Coming.
Likewise, the Eastern Orthodox Church understands that the “Third Temple” is not a physical building in Jerusalem, but rather the Church and the Body of Christ. The physical temple was already fulfilled by Christ, making its rebuilding unnecessary and potentially associated with the rise of the Antichrist.
Sacrificing a cow, more specifically a red heifer, is also associated with end times prophesy, bringing about the Jewish Messiah (as Jews don’t believe Jesus was the Messiah). Infowars covered the Israeli effort to accomplish this animal sacrifice:
