Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was convicted of felony obstruction of federal agents on Thursday after a jury delivered a verdict that could land her in jail for up to five years.
Back in April, Dugan showed 31-year-old Mexican national Eduardo Flores-Ruiz a back door that led to a public corridor so he could escape a courthouse after she told immigration officers they needed a judicial warrant to arrest the suspect.
After fleeing the courthouse, Flores-Ruiz ran from ICE officers who chased him down and made an arrest despite the judge’s attempts to help him escape.
In November, DHS announced the illegal alien was deported after pleading “no contest” for battery in county court.
Patriot TV reports, “Dugan, a sitting judge with nine years on the bench, faced two counts: felony obstruction and a misdemeanor for concealing a person to prevent arrest. The jury convicted her on the felony but acquitted her on the misdemeanor after deliberating for over six hours.”
