The mayor’s residence was not evacuated while police cleared the area.

A local person contacted law enforcement when they saw a large jar covered with camouflage tape near the governor’s mansion.
Police X-rays showed the device was filled with liquid, leading the NYPD to conduct more tests before ultimately deeming the situation safe.

ABC News reported on Monday that American law enforcement agencies received a federal government warning that the U.S. intercepted encrypted messages from Iran intended to “trigger sleeper assets” abroad.

The Lang incident also took place during a demonstration near Gracie Mansion.
