At least six people have been killed in clashes outside the US consulate in Karachi, Pakistan on Sunday morning, as they protested the bombing of Iran and the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei.

The Independent reports, “Police and paramilitary forces used batons and tear gas to disperse crowds who smashed windows at the diplomatic compound in the southern port city.

“Summaiya Syed Tariq, a police surgeon at the city’s principal public hospital, said six bodies, along with several injured individuals, had been taken there. Karachi, the country’s largest city, serves as the capital of the southern province of Sindh.

“Police and officials also said that eight others were injured during the clashes.”

The protests came hours after it was confirmed that Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, was killed in joint US-Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian capital, Tehran.

There have been widespread protests in neighboring Pakistan.

In a northern region of the country, a United Nations office was set on fire.

In Lahore, hundreds gathered to protest outside the US consulate.

There have also been protests in Indian-administered Kashmir and Iraq.

President Trump has described the killing of Khamenei as “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.”

He also warned that retaliation would be met with a massive response.

“Iran just stated that they are going to hit very hard today, harder than they have ever hit before… THEY BETTER NOT DO THAT, HOWEVER, BECAUSE IF THEY DO, WE WILL HIT THEM WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!”

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has threatened its “most intense offensive operation” against Israeli and American bases.

Parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said, “You have crossed our red line and must pay the price. We will deliver such devastating blows that you yourselves will be driven to beg.”
