Law enforcement sources told media outlets on Thursday that the tragic Brown University shooting where two students were killed and several others were injured may be directly connected to Monday’s murder of 47-year-old MIT professor Nuno F.G. Loureiro.
Loureiro was found shot and killed at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts, just an hour drive from Brown University.
A father of three from Portugal, Loureiro’s wife called 911 after hearing two loud bangs come from inside his home.
The professor was a “faculty member in the departments of Nuclear Science & Engineering and Physics, as well as the Director of MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center.”
He was reportedly a top mind working on fusion energy, which could offer a clean and virtually limitless energy source he believed would “alter the course of human history.”
The Jerusalem Post reports, “Israeli officials are examining intelligence from recent days that suggests an Iranian connection to the murder of Prof. Nuno Loureiro, a senior nuclear scientist at MIT, who was shot dead in his home in Brookline, Massachusetts, on Monday evening. “

Just two days prior, an unknown individual went on a shooting rampage at Brown University.
The Brown shooter allegedly shouted, “Allahu Akbar,” but that rumor has yet to be confirmed by authorities, however, the claim could be relevant considering the suspected Iranian connection to Loureiro’s murder.
A 4pm press briefing about the Brown University shooting was postponed on Thursday due to the “fast-moving development” that the incident may be linked to the MIT case.
During an appearance on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” Wednesday, “Human Events Daily” host Jack Posobiec said a White House source told him the Brown University shooting appears to have been a targeted attack.
The university’s College Republicans Vice President Ella Cook, who was targeted by the assailant, according to an “extremely well placed” and “high level source.”
Upon learning this accusation, Posobiec and Bannon questioned why law enforcement hasn’t told the public as the shooter remains at large and could target other individuals.
Now, after officials revealed the Brown murders and MIT professor’s killing could be connected, it’s even MORE imperative to warn those who may be in danger.
