Tommy Robinson Vows to Turn Tables on Mainstream Media, Expose Malicious Tactics Used to Endanger His Family

“The Daily Mail are going to be on trial. Their behavior, their tactics are going to be on trial, and the jury are going to get shown what they intentionally done to my family,” Robinson says

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, known better as Tommy Robinson, stood tall outside Southwark Crown Court on July 3 after pleading not guilty to two counts of harassment.

The charges stem from alleged threats made on X against two Daily Mail journalists in August of 2024. Robinson claims the mainstream media endangered his family, and now he faces a trial set for October 2026.

Robinson says the Daily Mail tracked his family on holiday, published their location, and shared photos of his children and ex-wife. He believes this led to violent threats, including from armed groups who targeted his family’s hotel.

“They can take pictures of innocent family members. They can give the location, which resulted in Somalians with machine guns, threatening to murder my family, threats to rape my kids,” Robinson told reporters. Hotel staff, fearing for guests’ safety, hid his family in a side room.

The activist insists he only wanted to question the journalists on camera, not harm them.

“I made very clear in the charges, I’m not going to show where you live. I’m not going to publish innocent pictures of your family,” he said.

Yet, Robinson now faces prosecution while the media outlets, he claims, escape accountability. Robinson sees this as a double standard.

“They don’t want anyone asking ‘em questions. So because I’m wanting to ask them questions, I now face another year of law,” he said.

His bail conditions limit what he can say, but Robinson remains defiant. He plans to turn the tables at trial, putting the Daily Mail’s tactics on display.

“The Daily Mail are going to be on trial. Their behavior, their tactics are going to be on trial, and the jury are going to get shown what they intentionally done to my family,” he vowed.

He questions why the media published images of his children, asking, “What part were my children or my ex-wife or innocent people? How were they part of this story?”

Robinson ties his case to a broader fight against censorship. He accuses the British state and media of framing him for last year’s riots, despite a police report finding no far-right link.

“What did I have to do with the riots? Nothing. What was my message during the riots? Stay calm, stay peaceful, stop the violence,” he said. He believes the media lied to inflame tensions, yet he alone faces prosecution.

The activist is organizing a massive free speech festival in London on September 13.

“It’s going to be the biggest free speech festival that Europe has ever seen,” he declared.

He invited global figures to join, saying, “The more they want to censor our free speech, I think the British public are going to show the establishment… we will have our free speech.”

Robinson sees independent media as the future, dismissing mainstream outlets: “No one looks at your stories anymore. You don’t get many likes. We are the media.”

Border Hawk asked Tommy, “Aren’t you a journalist? Aren’t you entitled to the same press freedoms that the Daily Mail has?”

“There’s a controlled journalism in the UK. They don’t want citizen journalists. We’re citizen journalists, we’re uncontrollable. So they use the courts, they use the judiciary, they use the state to control us and to attack us,” he replied.

Robinson’s legal battles are costly. He estimates this trial will cost over £100,000, even if he wins. A previous case cost £50,000, despite a judge ruling police actions against him unlawful. Yet, he remains committed.

“Everyone’s going to watch what happens in this trial. I’m going to have an opportunity to put the Daily Mail and their behaviors on trial,” he said.

Supporters gathered outside the court, chanting for Robinson. He thanked them and allies worldwide, including a fan from Hong Kong who sent a gift.

For Robinson, this is more than a personal fight — he believes it’s a stand for truth and freedom against a media and state that are weaponized to silence dissent.
