In a testament to the success of his tough border policies, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “0 illegal aliens released into the U.S. in the last 6 months.”
In a follow-up post on Facebook, the White House added, “All we needed was a new president.”
This week, the Department of Homeland Security released data for October showing “record-low encounters, sustained control across all sectors, and the sixth straight month of zero releases by the U.S. Border Patrol.”
Total encounters at the southern border in October 2025 were down 79% compared to October 2024, and 29% compared to October 2012, the previous low.
The Biden administration was accused of allowing at least 1.4 million illegal immigrants to be released into the US without sufficient vetting, including hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans.
Since returning to the White House, President Trump has effectively sealed the southern border, militarising large segments of it and posting thousands of troops and federal agents.
Military reserves have been created along the border, which allow the expedited removal of illegal aliens.
Construction of the border wall, which was halted during Joe Biden’s presidency, has also resumed.
