Trump To “Explode” Deportation Numbers Next Year

The promise of a crackdown comes even in the face of polling evidence that approval for Trump’s immigration policies has fallen from 50% in March to 41% in mid-December

President Trump is preparing to “explode” deportation numbers next year with a much-more aggressive approach, including workplace raids.

Reuters reports, “ICE and Border Patrol will get $170 billion in additional funds through September 2029 – a huge surge of funding over their existing annual budgets of about $19 billion after the Republican-controlled Congress passed a massive spending package in July.

“Administration officials say they plan to hire thousands more agents, open new detention centers, pick up more immigrants in local jails and partner with outside companies to track down people without legal status.”

The promise of a crackdown comes even in the face of polling evidence that approval for Trump’s immigration policies has fallen from 50% in March to 41% in mid-December.

White House Border Czar Tom Homan told Reuters, “I think you’re going to see the numbers explode greatly next year” as new immigration officers are hired and detention capacity is expanded.

Homan added that the plans “absolutely” include more workplace raids.

Some have called for enforcement to focus on employers themselves, arguing that they must be disincentivized from hiring illegals.

“Eventually you’re going to have to go after these employers,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy director for the Center for Immigration Studies, which backs lower levels of immigration.

“When that starts happening the employers will start cleaning up their acts on their own.”

Infowars reported recently that over 2.5 million illegal immigrants have now been deported from the US under the Trump administration.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) hailed the “record-breaking achievement” in a statement.

The figure includes more than 605,000 illegals deported as part of DHS operations and 1.9 million illegals who have voluntarily self-deported.

DHS has encouraged illegals to self-deport using the CBP Home app, which allows them to notify the federal government of their intention to leave the US. Self-deporters receive $1000 and a flight home.

“Since January 20, DHS has arrested more than 595,000 illegal aliens,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said.

“Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now. They know if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”

The DHS said the decline in the illegal population is already showing benefits for American workers. Over 440,000 jobs were added to the US economy in September and October.

At the same time as deporting illegals already in the US,  the Trump administration has focused on securing the nation’s borders and preventing illegals from entering the country in the first place.

Customs and Border Patrol’s (CBP) total encounters with illegal immigrants nationwide have reached a record low.

Since Trump took office, nationwide apprehensions have averaged less than 10,000 per month, which is a “level of deterrence unmatched in modern border history,” CBP said.

“For the seventh consecutive month, U.S. Border Patrol released zero illegal aliens into the United States. Every individual apprehended was processed according to law—a milestone unmatched in modern border history.”
