President Donald Trump has warned that drug traffickers in Colombia and Mexico could the next targets for US military action in the Americas, and he also predicted that Cuba’s communist regime may fall.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump was asked directly if the US will take military actions against Colombia.

“It sounds good to me,” the President replied.

“Colombia is very sick too, run by a sick man [President Gustavo Petro], who likes making cocaine and selling it to the United States. And he’s not going to be doing it very long, let me tell you.”

Trump then warned the US might have “to do something with Mexico,” explaining that the Mexican government is not doing enough to fight the drug cartels.

“Mexico has to get their act together because they’re pouring through Mexico, and we’re going to have to do something,” Trump said.

“We’d love Mexico to do it, they’re capable of doing it but unfortunately, the cartels are very strong in Mexico.”

Trump said he had offered US military assistance to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on multiple occasions, but she was “just not willing” and “a little afraid.”

Trump was asked about Cuba and whether military action would be necessary there. He said he believes the regime will fall on its own.

“They got all of their income from Venezuela, from the Venezuelan oil. They’re not getting any of it. I think it’s just going to fall. I don’t think we need any action.”

Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba have strongly denounced the US airstrikes and special-forces operation that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores on Saturday. They will now face drug and arms-related charges in the Southern District of New York.

Gustavo Petro posted on X that Colombia opposes “any unilateral military action” that could increase tensions in the region and endanger civilians.

Mexico’s Foreign Ministry also criticized the U.S. military action in Venezuela, calling for dialogue between the two nations and urging the United Nations to help de-escalate tensions.

“Latin America and the Caribbean is a zone of peace, built on the basis of mutual respect, the peaceful settlement of disputes and the prohibition of the use and threat of force, so any military action seriously jeopardizes regional stability,” the Ministry stated.

Meanwhile Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned the operation as a “criminal attack” and called for the immediate release of Maduro and his wife.
