An illegal alien from Africa reportedly went on a stabbing rampage after being detained by federal immigration authorities in New York City.
Bass Ndiaye, a 22-year-old citizen of Senegal who is illegally present in the U.S., is now facing charges for attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
Ndiaye was apprehended on July 17 and held at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan.
“While in the processing room, Ndiaye seized a pair of scissors. Ndiaye began slashing the scissors in the air and wielding them as a weapon, moving aggressively toward and attempting to stab several security guards, ICE officers, a Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent, and the approximately dozen other detainees in the room, among others,” the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York stated in a press release.
Officers were able to disarm Ndiaye before he could seriously injure anyone.
The African has been charged with assaulting federal officers and using a deadly and dangerous weapon and could face up to 20 years in prison.
Ndiaye illegally crossed the southern border in October of 2023, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
He was caught by U.S. Border Patrol and then released into the country by the Biden administration.
“Now, this dangerous criminal will face justice for his violent actions. Make no mistake: attacks on law enforcement are on the rise,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“Secretary Noem stands with the brave men and women of law enforcement as they risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens and protect Americans.”
Illegal aliens and radical leftists have become increasingly brazen in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
DHS says attacks on ICE agents are up more than 830% since last year.
