Documents related to extraterrestrial life and UFOs will be released “very soon,” President Trump promised on Friday.

“As you remember, I recently directed the Secretary of War … to begin releasing government files relating to UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena,” Trump told the audience at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona.

“I’m pleased to report today… that this process is well underway and we’ve found many very interesting documents, I must say. And, the first releases will begin very, very soon.”

President Trump ordered the release of information about UFOs and related unexplained phenomena in February, in a Truth Social post.

“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters,” the President wrote.

On 23 February, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told reporters he was preparing the documents for release.

UFO experts have expressed scepticism about the worth of the releases.

The Epoch Times notes, “The U.S. government holds thousands of documents related to historical reports about the subjects of unidentified flying objects and alien phenomenon, including more than 12,600 reports from Project Blue Book, which took place from 1947 to 1969. The public can already access some of the public records, photos, and sounds at the National Archives.”

“They’re just documents,” Donald Schmitt told The Epoch Times.

“They don’t prove anything. We need to stop dancing around the idea that we want to see the files or documents. … I want to hold a piece of the hardware. I want to see a tissue sample. Take me to where you’re preserving the bodies after all these years.”

“That’s what this should come down to. Otherwise this is just song and dance.”

A House hearing in July 2023 featured testimony from former military intelligence officer David Grusch, who told lawmakers under oath that he “was informed in the course of my official duties of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse-engineering program to which I was denied access.”

Grusch further alleged the government had retrieved what he called “non-human biologics” from recovered craft, citing accounts from dozens of witnesses he interviewed over four years.
