During Monday’s edition of The Five on Fox News, one of the network’s hosts Greg Gutfeld went off on Democrat strategist Jessica Tarlov for engaging in whataboutism during a conversation about political violence following the brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Gutfeld wondered why such hardcore political violence is only coming from the left and not the right, and Tarlov asked, “What about Melissa Hortman?”

“The fact of the matter is the both sides argument not only doesn't fly, we don't care. We don't care about your both sides… pic.twitter.com/6cihjn0lXF
Responding, Gutfeld noted Hortman, a Democrat politician who served as speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, was not a well-known political figure before her murder.
“So, she doesn’t matter?” Tarlov asked, with Gutfeld answering, “Don’t play that bullshit with me. What I’m saying is there was no demonization amplification about that woman before she died. It was a specific crime against her by somebody who knew here.”
He continued, noting the burning of Democrat Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s house was done by a pro-Palestine individual who was upset with his support of Israel.
“We don’t care about your ‘both sides’ argument. That shit is dead!” Gutfeld told Tarlov. “For one thing, there is no cognitive dissonance on our side. On your side, your beliefs do not match reality, so you’re coming up with these rationalizations. ‘What about this or what about that?’ We are not doing that because we saw it happen. We saw a young bright man assassinated and we know who did it!”
Saying he understands why leftists are being so defensive, the Fox host claimed they’d “fall apart” if they had to face the underlying facts of the situation.
“Because you’re going to realize you’re not the good guys if you sat around and you defended the mutilation of children, you’re not the good guys,” he said. “If you sat – 600, 700 cases of harassment against Republicans – and you said, ‘What about this? What about that?’ And, then you see this murder after calling somebody a fascist, you realize, ‘Maybe I’m not the good guy.’ That is a hell of a realization to deal with.”
While Democrats try to dodge blame for their rhetoric playing a role in the assassination, Republicans have finally had enough and are not going to let them off the hook.
