Democrat Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey told ICE to “GTFO” of his city Wednesday, following a fatal encounter where ICE agents shot a woman attempting to ram them with a vehicle.
“They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense,” Frey said at a news conference, blaming federal immigration enforcement agents for the incident. “Having seen the video of myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is bullshit.”
“What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust. They are ripping families apart, sowing chaos in the streets and, in this case, quite literally killing people,” Frey stated. “This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”

“To ICE, get the fuck out of our city,” he said, adding, “We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some sort of safety and you are doing the opposite.”
Democrat Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz also urged people to be distrustful of ICE, saying, “Don’t believe this propaganda machine.”

The pair’s outrage followed an incident in Minneapolis Wednesday where ICE agents were seen shooting a vehicle that attempted to drive toward them, killing a woman behind the wheel.
“Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism,” the Department of Homeland Security wrote on social media.
“An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.”
