A reporter visited the home of Lisa Cook and discovered someone other than Cook was renting there, as the Federal Reserve governor has been criminally referred to the DOJ for the second time following allegations she committed mortgage fraud.
Reporter Charlie LeDuff visited Cook’s “primary residence” in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and knocked on the door.
“Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook has three homes and big troubles,” LeDuff says in the report. “She claimed to the banks that she lived at all of them. But real estate records show she listed two of them for rent. That’s not legal. So Lisa must be living here in Ann Arbor at the third house, right?”
When he arrived, LeDuff observed a lockbox on the door and a white man sitting at a dining room table.
“That’s weird, I don’t think she’s married,” LeDuff comments.
LeDuff then introduces himself to a man that comes to the door, saying, “I’m a reporter. This house was in the news. I was wondering if Lisa Cook lives here? Or do you rent?”
The man responds, “No, we’re just renting, so we don’t feel comfortable,” before saying, “You’ll have to talk to the owner.
“Governor? Where do you live?” LeDuff concludes his report.
The video was shared by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, who referred Cook to the Justice Dept. for a second time over the weekend over suspicions of mortgage fraud.
“We have just received video proof that Lisa Cook’s declared ‘PRIMARY RESIDENCE’ is being RENTED out to tenants,” Pulte wrote on X. “Cook RECENTLY CLAIMED to the U.S. Government that it was her PERSONAL RESIDENCE, but she’s renting it out?”
