While reporting on President Trump’s takeover of Washington, D.C. law enforcement as crime spirals out of control in the U.S. capital, an ABC anchor strayed from the left-wing narrative by admitting she’s personally experienced the negative effects of the surge in criminal activity.

“Here in Downtown D.C. where we work, right here around our bureau, just in the past 6 months, there were two people shot. One person died literally two blocks down from the bureau,” she said. “It was within the last two years that I actually was jumped walking just two blocks down from here. And then, just this morning, one of my coworkers said her car was stolen a block away from the bureau.”

The D.C. Police Union president came out and supported Trump’s decision to crack down on crime in the capital, saying, “We completely agree with the President that the crime in the District of Columbia is out of control and something needs to be done.”

A grieving mother whose 21-year-old son was murdered in D.C. in June while working as a congressional intern cried while thanking President Trump during a Fox News interview.

The left can fudge the numbers and try to hide the absurd crime rates in blue cities all they want, but the citizens who deal with the dangerous reality every day know something must be done to combat the lawlessness caused by Democrat policies.
