Big, Beautiful Bill Empowers Trump Admin to Tackle Decades-Long Border Crisis – Rep. Gill

Mass migration "is the biggest issue of our time. I think it’s something we are working hard to solve, especially with this One Big, Beautiful Bill," Rep. Gill says

Funding for border security and interior enforcement comprise the “biggest and greatest” part of the One Big, Beautiful Bill (OBBB), according to Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX).

“For decades, we have had a border crisis. That’s not something that was created under Joe Biden, but it certainly got exponentially worse under Joe Biden,” Rep. Gill told immigration news outlet Border Hawk during a recent interview.

“During that time, the American people were saying, ‘We want border security. We want to be able to determine who is coming in to our country, on our terms. And we would like to deport the people who came here illegally.’”

However, the will of the American people has been ignored and subverted, in part because Republicans did not have enough votes in the Senate to pass legislation without Democrats also demanding mass amnesty, Gill says.

Because the OBBB was passed via the budget reconciliation process, it only required a simple majority in the Senate, which Republicans achieved with Vice President JD Vance’s tie-breaking 51st vote.

The OBBB allocates roughly $75 billion to Immigration and Customs Enforcement through 2029, enabling the agency to significantly expand detention capacity, ramp up deportation capabilities, and launch a hiring and training spree.

“That is a huge win — a decades-long victory for conservatives,” Rep. Gill asserted.

Relentless migration is the most pressing issue facing the United States, he warns.

“Mass migration, whatever you think about it, is the one issue that impacts all the other issues. If you think of national security, the availability of social services for Americans, housing, education, medical resources — it impacts everything,” Gill said.

“Most fundamentally, it impacts the cultural makeup of the country, our cultural foundation.”

Gill estimates more than 15 million illegal aliens entered the U.S. under the Biden regime and asserts the historic influx is fueling a national housing crisis, while American citizens experience longer wait times at medical facilities and send their children to overcrowded public schools.

“I also think that we have a unique cultural foundation in the United States, and that is something that is the foundation of everything else that we get to enjoy — the free market that we get to enjoy rests on a cultural foundation that includes social trust, and that is undermined by mass migration,” Gill stated.

“I think this is the biggest issue of our time. I think it’s something we are working hard to solve, especially with this One Big, Beautiful Bill. It’s something we ought to take very, very seriously.”
