The Department of Justice (DOJ) just announced details in the case against 52-year-old Andres Wilkinson, a 25-year veteran of CBP who was promoted to a supervisor role in 2021.
In June 2025, law enforcement began surveilling Wilkinson’s residence after learning he may be harboring a female illegal alien whose immigration status was known to him.
Investigators observed the woman and her child apparently living with Wilkinson and operating his vehicles.
The adult female entered the U.S. on a nonimmigrant travel visa in August 2023 and then overstayed its expiration.
“In February 2026, investigators interviewed the illegal alien, according to court records. The criminal complaint alleges she had been residing with Wilkinson since August 2024,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas explained in a press release.
“Court documents further allege Wilkinson provided financial support, including housing, credit cards, assistance with financial obligations and access to vehicle registered in his name. The complaint also alleges Wilkinson knowingly transported the illegal alien through U.S. Border Patrol checkpoints.”
Wilkinson made his initial court appearance and remained in federal custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for Feb. 12.
If convicted, he faces 10 years in federal prison as well as a fine of up to $250,000.
