Race-baiting hoaxer Jussie Smollett, who staged a fake hate crime for publicity during Trump’s first term, will return to television.
Smollett was one of the main stars of the hit show “Empire” for five seasons, before staging a fake hate crime that put paid to his high-profile career when his lies unravelled.
Smollett will take part in the new series of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” alongside 17 other celebrities, including stars Kody Brown of “Sister Wives” and Gia and Teresa Giudice of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
They will complete a training camp led by former special-forces operatives, in what Fox describes as “a test unlike any other.”
In 2019, Smollett alleged he had been jumped outside Chicago by two Trump supporters who declared, “This is MAGA country, n****r!” and put a noose around his neck. In reality, he had paid two African immigrants to carry out the fake attack.
He was charged with filing a false police report, but charges were then dropped after he completed community service and forfeited $10,000.
In 2020, he was re-indicted and convicted on five separate counts in December of the following year and sentenced to jail. He served six days.
His sentence was later reversed by the Illinois Supreme Court, on the basis that he had fulfilled the plea agreement he made with the authorities in 2019.
