Update: Fox News is reporting that the Old Dominion University shooter has been identified as 36-year-old former Army National Guard soldier Mohamed Bailor, who was naturalized after immigrating from Sierra Leone and was previously convicted of supporting ISIS.
A pair of shootings took place in separate states on Thursday, with both assailants being shot and killed during their sprees.
One incident took place at Virginia’s Old Dominion University where an individual opened fire on campus, killing one person and injuring two others before being shot and killed by police officers.
Footage shows officers carrying a body believed to be the deceased shooter.

Over in Michigan, an armed person rammed their vehicle into the doors of Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, exited the car and got into a shootout with a security guard.
Smoke billowed out of the building after the car crash started a fire.
Oakland Sheriff Mike Bouchard told reporters the suspect’s car caught fire after “something ignited” and that the gunman was found dead in the vehicle after being shot and killed by the security guard.
Bouchard confirmed there were miraculously no injuries aside from one security guard being knocked unconscious and removed from the scene by co-workers.
Information about the assailants is currently being withheld by law enforcement, but with one of the attacks targeting Jewish Americans the internet is speculating the shooting may have been an Islamic incident following reports that Iran issued a call for sleeper cells to kill U.S. citizens.
In recent weeks, a pro-Iran Muslim terrorist shot and killed revelers at an Austin, Texas, bar, a Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville, Tennessee, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was forced to divert to Atlanta when a man threatened to ‘bomb’ the airplane and shouted ‘Allahu Akbar,’ and a pair of Muslim teenagers tried to kill conservative activist Jake Lang with a nail bomb.
The NYPD also investigated a suspicious package near Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Gracie Mansion residence this week, Kansas City International Airport in Missouri was evacuated on Sunday due to a bomb threat, and Virginia’s Reagan National Airport was evacuated on Thursday due to a suspicious package.
Meanwhile, the FBI alerted police departments in California this week that Iran may be set to launch drone attacks “against unspecified targets in California” just as the U.S. Army revealed on Monday that four military drones were stolen from Fort Campbell last November.
