Congressman Seth Moulton (D-Mass) made headlines last month for bringing an illegal alien to President Trump’s State of the Union address and then hiding the individual after the Department of Homeland Security called out the foreigner by name.

“Rep. Moulton plans to bring illegal alien Marcelo Gomes DaSilva. Gomes DaSilva is an illegal alien who has no right to be in our nation. We are committed to enforcing the law and fighting for the arrest, detention, and removal of aliens like him,” DHS wrote.

Explaining Rep. Moulton’s decision to escort the teenage illegal alien out of the House gallery during the State of the Union, a spokesman for the congressman told CBS News the illegal was removed “out of an abundance of caution” due to DHS “targeting and harassing Marcelo.”

Now, the Boston Herald is reporting that the illegal paraded at the SOTU by Moulton has been named in multiple police reports as a person of interest in cases involving sexual assault and juveniles.

The illegal alien, Marcelo Gomes da Silva, was named in a June 2021 police report that “involves a sexual assault and juveniles,” and another from September 2021 that “involves juveniles.”

The Herald reached out to the Secretary of State’s Office and the Milford Police Department regarding the two reports, but Milford Deputy Chief John Sanchioni denied both of the requests due to the cases involving underage individuals.

The deputy chief told the outlet, “The records you are requesting are not public records in accordance with M.G.L. c. 4 s. 7 cl. 26 (A). Report 21-23101-OF involves a sexual assault and juveniles. Report 21-16254-OF involves juveniles.”

Despite the 19-year-old being in the U.S. illegally, the congressman called him a “great American,” a “patriot,” and “a reminder of what courage looks like.”

Gomes da Silva responded to the Boston Herald’s reporting with a statement saying, “I would like to respond to the Boston Herald’s irresponsible and outrageous reporting. I want to be clear: I have never assaulted anyone. I have never been contacted by the police about any accusations of assault. I only learned about these reports that allegedly include my name in them through the media. I have never seen these alleged reports. My attorney has since requested these alleged reports and was denied.”

An appeal has been made regarding Milford Juvenile Court and the Milford Police’s denial of releasing the police reports featuring Gomes da Silva.
