“The Kenosha Kid” Kyle Rittenhouse, who made national headlines for shooting three attackers during a 2017 Black Lives Matter riot in Wisconsin, announced on social media Wednesday he’s stepping back into the public eye.

After taking some time to himself in January, Rittenhouse got married and “found more peace and purpose than” he ever thought possible, but the “brutal assassination” of his friend Charlie Kirk changed everything.

“Watching his life cut short for standing up publicly for what he believed was right shook me to my core. In that moment I realized something important: this fight for our future, for our freedoms — it can’t wait. It doesn’t pause when you want it to. I couldn’t sit on the sidelines anymore,” Rittenhouse wrote.

He noted that his wife supports his decision and wrote, “So I’m back. Not quietly. Not halfway. I’m coming back in a big way. More to come soon… stay tuned.”

Later on Wednesday, the activist detailed how the Second Amendment saved his life and thanked America’s Founding Fathers for recognizing the “God-given right to self-defense.”

He added, “If you believe we must defend the Second Amendment with everything we’ve got, follow me. More coming soon… stay tuned.”

After announcing his return to social media, Rittenhouse declared, “I’m back on social media, I’m back in the fight, and i’m here to stay,” stating, “More big announcements coming soon…”

Since relaunching his 𝕏 account, Rittenhouse has called out “weak Republicans” for failing to match the tenacity of Democrat politicians and supported singer Jelly Roll’s campaign to restore his Second Amendment rights.

Jelly Roll is banned from owning firearms due to his felon status, but many Americans, including Rittenhouse, argue nonviolent individuals who have paid their debts should be allowed to defend themselves and hunt.

“If someone has served their time and paid their debt to society, their rights should be fully restored — including the Second Amendment,” he wrote. “If the government says a person is ‘too dangerous’ to exercise their rights, then why are they being released at all? Give this man his 2A back!”

Time will tell what Rittenhouse will do next, whether it’s running for an elected office, working for a pro-gun organization, starting a podcast or something else.
