Greenland is the world’s largest island, a cold and sparsely populated land which is an autonomous territory of Denmark.

The international attention given to the Denmark Controversy (not the subject of this article) is an opportunity to look at Danish immigration policies.

Denmark has some of the toughest immigration policies in the Western world — arguably the best, with the exception of the Visegrad countries, which don’t have much immigration to begin with.

Consider this: Mette Frederiksen, current prime minister of Denmark, is not a right-winger, but a member of the center-left Social Democrat party (Socialdemokratiet).

Nevertheless, her party was elected in 2019 on a platform which included stricter immigration policies.

In January of 2021, Prime Minister Frederiksen made the announcement that immigration to Denmark should be limited to prevent threats to the country’s social cohesion. She gets it!

From 2019 to 2023, the Frederiksen government enacted a “Paradigm Shift” in immigration, leading to stricter policies than before. The focus changed from integrating immigrants in Denmark to returning them to their home countries.

“The Danish left-wing government’s continued push against mass immigration is producing tangible results, including a dramatic reduction in asylum applications as well as a sharp reduction in overall immigration. The government continues to be unique in all of Europe, featuring the only ruling left-wing bloc seriously opposed to mass immigration,” Remix News reported in 2023.

There is a right-wing nationalist party in Denmark, the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkeparti), which has campaigned for stricter immigration policies.

But the Social Democrats have been successful by adopting the Danish People’s Party immigration policies.

This would be like the Democrat Party adopting the immigration policies of the MAGA movement!

What about refugee/asylum policies?

In recent years, the “refugee” movement has become just another way to get into a Western country. How many “asylum seekers” are genuine refugees?

“Refugees” often country shop, crossing a dozen or more safe countries to reach one with generous benefits.

After getting established, “refugees” sometimes even vacation in their home countries. You know, the places they were supposedly on the verge of being killed in!

What about Denmark?

“Denmark has some of the strictest asylum legislation in Europe. The country grants only temporary asylum to refugees… It has tightened laws on family reunion, and introduced policies focused on prioritising deportation, rather than integration… Hardline asylum legislation was in place in Denmark before Frederiksen came to power, but has become even more draconian under her administration,” The Conversation reported last year.

Danes are determined to protect their own culture.

In 2013, there was a controversy over the removal of meatballs in some daycare centers to please Muslims. Danes didn’t like that, they like their meatballs.

The Danish government is concerned about segregated foreign ghettoes, so they break them up.

Another unique thing about Denmark is their transparent national statistics. Other countries (including our own) try to conceal racial/ethnic crime statistics, but the Danish government releases very transparent data.

“Denmark has the most transparent data on the topic of nearly any country in the Western world. It not only tracks migrant crime but also breaks down this data between European and non-European offenders. According to the data… non-European migrants commit vastly more crimes than European migrants and Danish citizens… Not only are non-European migrants vastly overrepresented in the crime data, but for certain serious offenses like murder, assault, and rape, the overrepresentation is astounding,” Remix News reported.

“Denmark goes even further and analyzes second-generation non-European migrants as well, and that is where even more troubling statistics are revealed. While the assumption is that these children of migrants would be better integrated than their parents, the opposite is found.”

With transparent statistics, the Danes can craft better policies.

Denmark shows us that center-leftists can sometimes address the National Question even better than conservatives.

We can learn from other countries, both good and bad.

Denmark’s center-left leaders realize that mass Third World immigration is bad for their country, and they are working to reverse the situation.
