The number of ‘migrants’ passing through Panama on their way to the U.S. has plunged to near-zero, authorities say.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced fewer than a dozen migrants were detected in the Darien Gap in June, a further decline from 13 the month prior.

During the Biden era, tens of thousands of migrants poured through the treacherous jungle region in any given month, hitting more than 80,000 at the peak of the rush.

“The dangerous Darien Gap trek is notorious for exposing migrants, including children and the most vulnerable, to sexual abuse, trafficking, and exploitation,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated.

“In Panama’s Darien Gap, migrants are now turning BACK before they even reach our border— only 10 migrants crossed in June. This is more than a 99.98% drop from the Biden high when 82,000 illegal aliens crossed in a single month.”

It’s estimated that half a million migrants, including 113,000 children, passed through the Gap in 2023. These people came from South America, the Caribbean, and even Africa and Asia.

DHS says the “most secure border in American history” is sending a clear message to the rest of the world that illegal crossings will no longer be tolerated.

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks announced on Friday that agents apprehended fewer than 4,400 illegals on the southern frontier during the month of July, a stunning new historic low.
