During an acceptance speech on Sunday, Eilish, 24, went along with the ceremony’s anti-ICE theme throughout the night and proclaimed that “No one is illegal on stolen land,” adding “Fuck ICE.”

In a comment to the Daily Mail on Tuesday, a representative for the Tongva Native American tribe, often described as the “first Angelinos,” noted Eilish’s lavish Glendale home is actually on their native land.
“We appreciate the opportunity to provide clarity regarding the recent comments made by Billie Eilish,” the tribe rep wrote. “As the First People of the greater Los Angeles basin, we do understand that her home is situated in our ancestral land.”
“Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property, we do value the instance when Public Figures provide visibility to the true history of this country.”
The singer’s hypocrisy was highlighted by political commentator Eric Daugherty on X, pointing out her house was on the tribe’s indigenous land and asking her to “graciously host illegal aliens in her mansion,” adding, “After all, she has the moral high ground. Put up or shut the F up.”

Eilish’s remarks also prompted a young man to launch a GoFundMe and attempt to travel to her beach mansion to take her up on the offer, considering her sentiments that “no one is illegal on stolen land.”
