Trump Announces Iran War Objectives Very Close To Being Met, Considering Winding Down Military Operations

"We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran," Trump said.

The U.S. will hand the responsibility of protecting energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz to the countries that are conducting the shipments. Throughout the war Iran has only blocked U.S. and Israeli shipments, but the conflict has made all passage through the strait grind to a halt.

On Friday President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. is very close to completing its objectives in Operation Epic Fury and is now considering winding down its military operation against Iran.

Currently, U.S. warplanes and attack helicopters are striking Iranian targets in an effort to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. It appears Washington is attempting to establish conditions that safe enough for the strait to be handed over to the authority of Gulf states and the nations that ship energy through it.

While Trump and his cabinet have recently said the war will be over very soon, the latest announcement provides the most substance to the claim. For the first week of the conflict however, the timeframe was being extended.

We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran: (1) Completely degrading Iranian Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry. (4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place. (5) Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others. The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not! If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated. Importantly, it will be an easy Military Operation for them. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump is putting the responsibility for protecting energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz on the countries that are preforming the shipments. This may work as Iran is only blocking Israeli and U.S. vessels, although the ongoing conflict has made passage extremely difficult.

Trump elaborated on this when speaking to press Friday.

Nearly a week ago the President used social media to ask the foreign nations that receive hydrocarbons through the Strait of Hormuz to come to the aid of the U.S. in it’s military operation of keeping the passage open:

Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe. We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are. Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE! President DONALD J. TRUMP

While those countries rejected Trump’s request, Washington may still be able to exit the conflict by handing the policing of energy trade to the foreign nations which rely on it.
