President Donald Trump has offered Ukraine’s Dictator a generous extension to ending his war. Previously the President said the Dictator had until Thanksgiving to accept peace or be cut off from U.S. support, but since that deadline has came and gone Trump will continue his support of Ukraine until Christmas (likely the Western Christmas on December 25).
The Telegraph reported Tuesday:
Donald Trump has told Volodymyr Zelensky that he has until Christmas to accept his deal to end the war with Russia.
The US president’s envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, delivered the warning in a two-hour-long phone call with the Ukrainian leader after their recent talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
The White House put forth a fair and balanced peace plan in November which Zelensky’s European enablers refused to allow Kiev to accept.
Trump spoke about the Ukraine situation with Dasha Burns of Politico during an interview on Monday – the transcript of which was published Tuesday morning.
Interestingly, Trump is now saying that Russia will win the war, a complete 180 from September when he said, “Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that!”
The President is now saying:
“We have to … you know, they [Ukraine] have to play ball. If they, uh … if they [Ukraine] don’t read agreements, potential agreements, you know, it’s, uh, not easy with Russia ’cause Russia has the upper … upper hand,” Trump told Politico on Monday. “And they always did. They’re much bigger. They’re much stronger in that sense. I give Ukraine a lot of … a lot of … I give the people of Ukraine and the military of Ukraine tremendous credit for the, you know, bravery and for the fighting and all of that. But you know, at some point, size will win, generally. And this is a massive size, uh … you … when you take a look at the numbers, I mean, the numbers are just crazy.”
On Tuesday Zelensky claimed that he is working with the Europeans toward a peace deal which he will submit to the Americans. Interestingly, the last time Zelensky took an American peace plan to the Europeans it was picked apart until it became unacceptable to the Russians.
The Dictator expects to discuss these “peace developments” with officials from Washington on Wednesday.
We continue to communicate with all our partners on a daily basis, virtually 24/7, to identify doable and realistic steps to bring the war to an end. Everything must be reliable and dignified for Ukraine.
Today’s schedule includes a conversation with the U.S. side regarding a document that will detail the process of Ukraine’s postwar reconstruction and economic development. In parallel, we are finalizing work on the 20 points of a fundamental document that could define the parameters for ending the war, and we expect to deliver this document to the United States in the near future following our joint work with President Trump’s team and partners in Europe.
Tomorrow’s schedule includes a meeting in the format of the Coalition of the Willing, and we are working very productively to guarantee future security and prevent a recurrence of Russian aggression. This week may bring news for all of us – and for bringing the bloodshed to an end. We believe that peace has no alternative, and the key questions are how to compel Russia to stop the killings and what specifically will deter Russia from a third invasion.
