Trump Meets Zelensky at NATO Summit

"You know, we had a little rough times sometimes, but he couldn't have been nicer," Trump said of Wednesday's interaction with the Dictator, likely referencing the February's fiery meeting where Zelensky went to Washington and disrespected America in the White House.

“I thank Mr. President, I thank the United States," Zelensky said. "We discussed how to achieve a ceasefire and a real peace. We spoke about how to protect our people. We appreciate the attention and the readiness to help bring peace closer.”

On Wednesday President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian Dictator Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit at The Hague in Holland. Following the interaction between Trump and Zelensky, the President said the Dictator “couldn’t have been nicer.”

“You know, we had a little rough times sometimes, but he couldn’t have been nicer,” Trump said of Wednesday’s interaction with the Dictator, likely referencing the February’s fiery meeting where Zelensky went to Washington and disrespected America in the White House.

Trump also said he is considering sending more Patriot missile batteries to Ukraine for the country’s defensive use against Russia. He said these anti-missile missiles are “very hard to get” but that “we are going to see if we can make some of them available.”

At a press conference after attending the summit, Trump said Zelensky will like to end his war and he will speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin about it soon.

“Look, Vladimir Putin really has to end that war,” Trump said.

The discussion between the President and the Dictator lasted for about 50 minutes.

“We covered all the truly important issues,” Zelensky said in a social media post.

“I thank Mr. President, I thank the United States,” the Dictator went on to say. “We discussed how to achieve a ceasefire and a real peace. We spoke about how to protect our people. We appreciate the attention and the readiness to help bring peace closer.”

Prior to the interaction, the President alluded to what he will be speaking about with the Dictator.

“Obviously we’ll be discussing his difficulties, he’s got a little difficulty,” Trump said. “Zelensky is a nice guy, I’m going to meet him today. I don’t know, I assume we’re going to be discussing Ukraine. It seems the most likely.”

While on his way to the summit on Tuesday Trump also said that the Dictator is in a tough situation and that he “should have never been there,” likely referring to the Ukraine war.

Prior to the summit on Monday, the head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andriy Yermak said he held “substantive” discussions with Secretary of State Marco Rubio in preparation for the meeting between Trump and Zelensky. This included the talk’s structure and key topics.

Zelensky has also been scheduled to meet NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at Wednesday’s summit.

Zelensky has not only improved his attitude, he improved his attire as well. The Dictator sported a proper business suit in lieu of his customary dictator costume, albeit with a black shirt which often indicates mourning or membership in an emo rock band.
