Image Credit: Screenshots | X Federal authorities are pushing back against deceptive claims that a U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agent unjustly shoved a woman to the pavement during enforcement operations in Chicago over the weekend.
On Saturday evening, a journalist with the Chicago Tribune shared a 14-second video clip showing an agent knocking down a large female on a residential street before climbing into a moving minivan that quickly sped away as projectiles were thrown at it.
“A very disturbing video from today’s ICE/CBP operations in Avondale. An officer pushes a woman to the ground, people get angry and throw -what’s seems to be a rock- towards the moving unmarked vehicle. This appears to be the new normal in Chicago,” Laura N. Rodríguez Presa wrote on X.
Hours later, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughin highlighted Presa’s post and included a clip of what transpired just moments before the shove.
“This [Chicago Tribune] ‘reporter’ somehow (!) left out the part where this woman grabbed at the law enforcement officers face, put her hands on him and tried to obstruct officers. Obvious activism masquerading as journalism. Embarrassing for the profession,” McLaughlin wrote.
Additional angles of the mask grab have also surfaced on social media.
USBP Commander Gregory Bovino revealed that federal authorities plan to prosecute the woman after she is identified.
“They always seem to leave the assault part out, don’t they? This rioter attacked our agent, attempting to unmask him. We are currently working to identify and prosecute her. Stay tuned! #FAFO,” Bovino said.
Illegal aliens and radical leftists have become increasingly brazen in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
