A convicted child sex offender from Mexico was discovered among several illegal aliens being smuggled into Texas last week, authorities say.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) just released footage of the bust, which unfolded on Oct. 15 in Eagle Pass, a former epicenter of the Biden border invasion.
A TxDPS trooper pulled over a suspicious Dodge Challenger at a gas station in Maverick County and questioned the driver, who was identified as Joshua Sanders, a residence of Fort Worth, TX.
Sanders can be heard telling the trooper he was coming from Dallas and had picked up three individuals sitting in the back seat at another gas station.
All three of the passengers — two males and a female — were found to be illegal aliens from Mexico and Honduras.
One of the Mexicans was identified as Jose Aleman Arroyo, an aggravated deported felon who reentered the U.S. after being convicted of indecency with a child and assault.
“Arroyo was arrested by authorities in North Carolina in 2021 for indecent liberties with a child, assault causing serious bodily injury and assault by pointing a gun,” TxDPS explained in a press release.
“He was convicted in August 2025 in Alamance Co., N.C. and was subsequently removed from the United States by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) that same month.”
All three illegals were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol.
Sanders was taken into TxDPS custody and charged with three counts of smuggling of persons.
Illegal border crossings have plunged to historic lows under the Trump administration.
