Image Credit: Spencer Platt/Getty Images A bloodthirsty suspect was permanently neutralized by New York City police officers during a brutal stabbing rampage that left several people wounded on Saturday, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded just before 10 a.m. at Grand Central Station in Manhattan.
Witnesses say a man wielding a large knife described as a “machete” launched unprovoked attacks on at least three unsuspecting victims on the 4, 5, 6 subway platform.
The suspect reportedly ignored officer commands to drop the weapon and he was subsequently shot and killed.
The victims were rushed to local hospitals in stable condition.
They were identified as two males, ages 65 and 85, along with a 70-year-old woman.
Photographs obtained by the New York Post appear to show at least one victim suffering from a head wound.
Two police officers were also hospitalized for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The assailant has not yet been identified.
