Twin brothers are facing serious federal charges after reportedly posting threats online about killing a prominent government official as well as federal immigration officers.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the apprehensions of Ricardo Antonio Roman-Flores and Emilio Roman-Flores, both U.S. citizens living in Absecon, NJ.
DHS agents, working alongside an Absecon Police Department SWAT team, executed a search and arrest warrant on Monday and took the men into custody.
The men are accused of making the threats in posts on X, redacted portions of which have been reviewed by Fox News.
“[The Second] Amendment is in place for moments like this. Shoot ICE on sight,” one of the brothers wrote in reply to a statement made by DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“We Americans should find you, tar you, feather you, and hang you as we did to anyone serving tyrants before the Revolutionary War.”
The other brother reportedly wrote “Shoot ICE on sight,” as well.
Emilio has been charged with unlawful possession of an assault weapon, possession of prohibited weapons, conspiracy terroristic threats, criminal coercion, threats, and cyber harassment.
Ricardo has been charged with conspiracy terroristic threats.
Both men were being held this week by the Absecon Police Department.
“Let this be a warning to anyone who dares threaten or attack our brave law enforcement officers. We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. We are NOT afraid of you,” said Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons.
“The extreme rhetoric of the news media, sanctuary politicians, and activists is leading directly to our law enforcement officers facing an 8,000% increase in death threats against them. If you threaten our law enforcement or DHS officials, we will hunt you down and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
