More than 200 child sex predators have been rounded up by federal immigration authorities in Southeast Texas.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced a stunning number of pedophiles have been arrested in the Houston area over the past six months, more than half of whom have already been deported.
In total, 214 illegal aliens with convictions or charges for sex offenses involving a minor were caught by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston since February — more than all of Fiscal Year 2024.
“The surge in arrests of illegal aliens charged with or convicted of child sex offenses is a direct result of a whole-of-government approach implemented under the current administration that led to the establishment of multiagency targeting teams in each area of responsibility,” ICE explained in a press release.
Some of the worst offenders included:
- Jose Guadalupe Meza, 40. Four prior deportations to Mexico. Convictions for theft and sexual assault of a child. Removed from U.S.
- Jesus Gutierrez Mireles, 67. Three prior deportations to Mexico. Convictions for aggravated sexual assault of a child and driving while intoxicated. Removed from U.S.
- Jorge Zebra, 48. Convictions for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and sexual indecency with a minor. Removed from U.S.
- Manuel Antonio Castro-Juarez, 37. Two prior deportations to El Salvador. Convictions for sexual assault of a minor and illegal reentry. In removal proceedings.
- Sergio Rolando Galvan Guerrero, 45. Three prior deportations to Mexico. Convictions for aggravated sexual assault of a child and DWI. Removed from U.S.
“Bringing together the resources and expertise of the entire federal law enforcement community to confront the overwhelming surge of illegal immigration that we saw over the past four years has resulted in the arrest and removal of historic numbers of violent criminal aliens, transnational gang members and child sex offenders,” said ERO Houston acting Field Office Director Paul McBride.
“While we still have a long way to go to truly get this crisis under control, the strides we have made in just six months to make our local communities safer are substantial, and our officers continue to work tirelessly every day to get the worst of the worst criminal aliens out of Southeast Texas to return our communities to places we can all enjoy.”
