The activists gathered around the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building as part of ongoing protests against federal immigration enforcement in the city.
At one point, video footage showed them surrounding a car, throwing dildos and sticking them to the vehicle’s bonnet.
The driver—whose vehicle had anti-ICE slogans prominently displayed in the back—attempted to remonstrate with the mob, but to no avail.
“Do you see my f***ing sign?” he shouted.
Eventually, two protesters stepped in and signalled to the others that the driver was, in fact, on their side.
The use of sex toys has emerged as a new tactic in the protests in Minneapolis.
The New York Post reports that “sex shops and adult retailers have become unexpected symbols of resistance and mutual aid amid the federal crackdown.”
Protests have continued in the Twin Cities, at a lower intensity, since authorities in Minnesota caved to President Trump’s demands and agreed to cooperate with immigration enforcement.
Protests reached a fever pitch after the shooting of two activists, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, by federal agents last month.
Good was shot while ramming an ICE agent in her SUV, and Good, who was armed with a handgun, was shot during a violent confrontation with CBP agents.
